Haiti is the densely populated home to more than 10 million people. It is considered the poorest country in the western hemisphere and has low literacy rates as well. Most Haitians are descendants of West African people who were brought to Haiti to work as slaves on sugar plantations. A common language is Creole, a blend of French and African languages.
In 2014, LIA started a health clinic that has served thousands of people in Southeast Haiti. The team also began other work in Jacmel. LIA’s programs have been instrumental to the growth and development of many local churches and communities.
LIA-Haiti Projects
The PHC-Clinic in Jacmel has been one of the top medical institutions providing low-cost healthcare to patients. The center has been highly rated by the Ministry of Health and the population for the quality of care we provide. The strength of the clinic remains our ability to rely on God to guide us. In order to continue serving the marginalized in Haiti, we are working to expand the LIA clinic and offer even more medical services.
